Incoming Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has made clear to CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that he still has plans for the Dutch international Arjen Robben, according to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo.

The Spaniard announced that he would take over from Jupp Heyneckes in managing the German team come next season after taking a year-long sabbatical. Before that, Guardiola spent four years at Barcelona, leading them to an unprecedented 14 trophies in four years, including a sextuple in 2009, when they won the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup along with the Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga titles.

It is believed that Guardiola has called for Rummenigge, as well as club president Uli Hoeness, not to sell Robben in the summer as the Spaniard is keen to give him a permanent place in Bayern Munich’s starting eleven.

Robben has not seen much action in Bayern Munich’s league campaign this season due to recurrent injuries. Out of the team’s 26 league matches so far this season, Robben has only managed to make 11 appearances, scoring two goals and notching five assists.
