Arsenal defender Johan Djourou would like to stay at Bundesliga outfit Hannover beyond his loan period, the Switzerland international’s agent has revealed.

The centre-back joined Hannover in the January transfer window, sealing a loan switch from Arsenal until the end of the season in search of more playing time.

Djourou has certainly seen that in Germany, making nine appearances in the Bundesliga so far and also tasting European action in the Europa League.

And so happy is the 26-year-old, he would like to remain at the AWD-Arena, his representative Marco Lichtsteiner has explained.

"Johan and his family are finding life very nice in Hannover", the agent, brother of Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner told German daily Bild.

"The project is suitable for him and in the coming days we will start talking about him staying with Jorg Schmadtke [Hannover sporting director, ed.].

"We know that his return to Arsenal is already scheduled, but we want to make clear our intentions."

Lichtsteiner also explained that Djourou would have no problem taking a wage cut to land with Die Roten permanently.

"Reducing his salary? That would not be a problem", he said.
