Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is pleased with the way club manager Brendan Rodgers has deployed him this season, offering more opportunity for attacking surges from the Spaniard.
The 27-year-old left-back has been tasked with moving forward to help his side dictate play and increase their attacking potency.
"The boss wants the full-backs to try to be another attacking player. It’s good because it’s not just about defending and then attacking sometimes, he wants us to go all the time as another attacking player”, Enrique told Liverpool’s official site.
“It’s really good, I really enjoy this type of football", he added.

Although Enrique explained that he enjoys playing up front and attacking more, he also knows that he is a defender first and foremost, and the duties of a defender need to be fulfilled.
"Our first thing is to defend – we are defenders so we have to defend. It’s really important to have a clean sheet as often as we can.
“Against West Ham I played like a striker and a lot of the time I have been in the box. I really like this style of play.
"You have to defend less sometimes; you always enjoy it more when you attack than when you defend – that’s normal.”
