Barcelona left-back Eric Abidal may soon make a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, according to Calcio Mercato.
The 33-year-old ex-Lyon man missed a large bulk of the current season due to health problems. Abidal had to undergo a liver transplant back in March of last year, subsequently being sidelined for the first 28 league matches for Barcelona this season.
Now the Frenchman is back to full fitness, with doctors allowing him to return to professional football.
In response, Abidal resumed his defensive duties for Barcelona two weeks ago, where he was a 71st minute substitute in the club’s match against Mallorca. Then, last Saturday, he played his first full game in Barcelona’s 1-0 win against Levante.

Regardless of the warm welcome, Abidal is yet to be offered a new deal that will prolong his stay at Camp Nou beyond this summer. This has alerted PSG, who are now looking to sign the defender.
Abidal has made a total 191 appearances for Barcelona since his move from Lyon in 2007, scoring two goals along the way.
