Liverpool have chosen not to appeal the ten-match ban handed to striker Luis Suarez, after leaving the decision in the player’s hands.
The Uruguayan was handed the punishment by the English Football Association for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during last weekend’s 2-2 draw between the two clubs.
The FA reacted quickly and swiftly, coming down hard on Suarez with a ten-match ban. The former Ajax player has previously run into trouble with the governing body before and was handed an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
"Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has not appealed the suspension issued to him by an Independent Regulatory Commission this week", the FA announced in a statement.

"A three-person Independent Regulatory Commission upheld The FA’s claim that a suspension of three matches was clearly insufficient and the player will now serve a further seven first-team matches in addition to the standard three.
"The suspension begins with immediate effect and applies to Liverpool FC’s next ten domestic first-team fixtures."
Suarez has previously served a ban for biting, having bitten PSV Eindhoven star Otman Bakkal in 2010 when playing for Ajax. He was suspended for seven games by the Dutch Football Association.
