German giants Schalke have stressed that they are in no rush to sell talented playmaker Julian Draxler, ruling out any possibility of the 19-year-old following the example set by Mario Gotze.

Borussia Dortmund have lost Gotze to Bayern Munich after the Bavarians activated a €37M release clause in the midfielder’s contract.

Draxler is another of German football’s promising talents to be linked with bigger clubs, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich having been mooted as suitors in some quarters, while Real Madrid and Juventus have also been listed as admirers.

But Schalke insist that Draxler will not be leaving Gelsenkirchen.

"There is no sale clause in the contract, so we do not have to sell him", Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt told German daily Bild.

"I feel that Julian is excellent here and has everything to his liking.

"He is fast becoming the face of Schalke."

However. Heldt did admit that a substantial offer could cause some thinking to be done at Schalke.

"If Julian says he wants to play for a bigger club than I cannot complain and if the price offered is good, then we will think about it."
