La Liga outfit Real Betis have begun talking to Arsenal about signing Marouane Chamakh in the summer, according to Tutto Mercato.

Chamakh is well down the striking pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and was loaned out to fellow Premier League outfit West Ham for the second half of the season in January.

The Moroccan has struggled to make an impact with Sam Allardyce’s men however and is expected to be shipped back to Arsenal at the end of his loan.

And with Arsenal on the hunt for new striking options this summer, his future may be bleak.

A good relationship between the Gunners and Betis however could see Chamakh handed the opportunity to relaunch his career in Spain.

Betis currently boast Costa Rica striker Joel Campbell on loan from Arsenal.

While Pepe Mel’s men are also keen on a formal partnership agreement with the Gunners.
