Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has given Arsenal food for thought amidst talk that the Gunners are looking to buy Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

The veteran custodian swapped the San Siro for Loftus Road at the beginning of the season, and has since then given a good account of himself between the sticks at the London-based club in his 24 league appearances.

With Arsenal’s Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny having had a blip in form of late, Arsenal are believed to be looking for a new custodian – and the 33-year-old former Inter shot-stopper has been mooted as fitting the bill.

In light of this, Redknapp has told the Gunners to put money where their mouth is if they really want to acquire Cesar’s services.

"Cesar wants to go to Arsenal, does he? Really? I could understand it but it would take a top offer for us to part with him", Redknapp said in a press conference via the club’s feed.

"He’s a Brazilian international and a top keeper, but the offer has to be right for the club", the English tactician added.

Cesar’s contract with the club sees him tied at Loftus Road until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
