Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski believes that Robert Lewandowski must come to his own decision over where he wants to move to, and he would forgive his countryman if he chose Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has turned down attempts by Borussia Dortmund to convince him to extend his contract and, with a deal which expires in 2014, looks set to exit the Ruhr giants this summer.

The hitman has been consistently linked with two clubs, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

If he chose to follow Mario Gotze to the Allianz Arena, it would be a big blow to Dortmund but, Blaszczykowski feels, whatever the decision it must be respected.

"Yes, I would forgive him [if he joined Bayern Munich]", Blaszczykowski told German daily Bild.

"Only he must make the decision.

"Everyone is responsible for his own career and therefore I cannot show a lack of understanding for the decisions of other people."

And Blaszczykowski insisted there is no trouble between Lewandowski and himself.

"The rumour that there is a problem between us must be a joke."
