Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is hoping his side record a good result against Manchester United on Sunday, despite admitting the game will be a difficult one for the Swans.

The Danish boss is particularly wary of the Red Devils, who will be possibly high-spirited at Old Trafford, and will look forward to presenting Sir Alex Ferguson with the “best leaving present”.

However, Laudrup has also called upon his team to try and give their best.

“For us, Sunday’s game is one where we’ll try to do our best. We have everything to win, and nothing to lose”, Laudrup said in a press conference, via his club’s feed.

“Their players will want to give Sir Alex the best leaving present, and it will be a difficult game for us.

“We’ll try and get something but even so we’ll still have a great opportunity to finish in the top half of the table."

The former Mallorca boss also expressed his pride in facing the Red Devils in their penultimate game of the season – also Ferguson’s last game at home.

“To leave after winning the league title once more is a great way to go out [for Ferguson], but what makes it so special is that Sunday will be his last home game in charge and I’m proud to be the opponent.”

Swansea are currently ninth in the league table, trailing Premier League winners Manchester United by 39 points.
