La Liga giants Real Madrid may decide to approach outgoing Bayern Munich head coach Jupp Heynckes to replace Jose Mourinho, according to Spanish daily AS.
Heynckes, now 68 years old, has his contract with Bayern Munich set to expire at the end of the season. Furthermore, it is believed that he is pondering on retirement once his job at the Allianz Arena comes to an end.
But Los Blancos are believed to be planning on convincing the German tactician to continue with his career and plan to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu should they fail to clinch the services of Carlo Ancelotti.
Should the deal push through, then it will become Heynckes’ second stint at Real Madrid, having already spent a season with a club during the 1997/98 campaign, leading the club to a Champions League triumph.
