Italian midfielder Massimo Ambrosini is giving priority to a renewal of his contract with AC Milan, despite offers from West Ham and clubs in the MLS.

The 35-year-old’s contract at the Rossoneri expires at the end of June and he has yet to agree an extension to remain at the club.

Interested parties have been quick to approach the Italian, who could choose to head to the MLS, or even England’s Premier League, with West Ham.

But first Ambrosini will see if a stay at Milan is on the table, his agent Moreno Roggi has insisted.

"What has been written may not be the truth", Roggi told Calcio Mercato.

"I’ve been to London, but not to decide the future of Massimo.

"It is true that he has offers from West Ham and Major League Soccer, but the situation is currently on standby mode.

"Massimo must first speak to Milan about his future, so there are really no significant new developments. We must wait for more information."

Ambrosini clocked up 20 appearances in Serie A for Milan last season.
