Borussia Dortmund defender Felipe Santana has dropped a large hint that his participation in the club’s epic Champions League final match at Wembley on Saturday could be his last in a yellow-and-black shirt.

Santana has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s trusted personnel in defence, having made a total 31 appearances for the club this season. In addition, he proved pivotal in Dortmund’s Champions League run, scoring the winning goal against Malaga in the quarter-final to see the Germans through.

But the Brazilian defender acknowledges that his half-decade ride with BVB may soon come to an end, who was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato, "It has been a great five years but next season, I think I’ll just be watching Borussia Dortmund on the television."

Santana may well have preferred to make his final Dortmund appearance in more celebratory fashion, but insists the club have every reason to be proud after their 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich at Wembley.

"We have no reason to feel sorry for the defeat. We have come a long way. We knew we had the ability to win but in the end, the best team won", Santana acknowledged.

The Brazilian centre-back has a contract with Dortmund that will not expire until the end of next season.
