Luciano Spalletti, head coach of Russian Premier League heavyweights Zenit St. Petersburg, has expressed his admiration for out-of-favour Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin.
Arshavin has been frozen out of the Arsenal first team this season, making only a total two starts for the club this season, in two of the club’s League Cup outings. Other than that, nine of his remaining appearances were made from the bench.
With Arshavin’s Emirates Stadium contract set to expire on 30th June, Spalletti has started to drop hints about how his side could be the Russian forward’s new home.
"We do our job and what is expected of us. The goal is to be useful to the team", Spaleltti told Russian TV station Vesti.

"If Arshavin is one who can bring something to this effect, then we can think about it. Andrei is interesting for everyone in Russia because he is a charismatic player", the Italian tactician added.
Arshavin made his move to Arsenal from Zenit in 2009. Since then, he has made a total 143 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals and clocking up 41 assists.
