First team coach Rene Meulensteen has parted ways with Premier League champions Manchester United, according to Voetbal International.
Meulensteen had been considering his future at the club ever since the announcement that assistant manager Mike Phelan and goalkeeping coach Eric Steele were leaving Old Trafford and new manager David Moyes confirmed he was to lead training sessions.
The staffing changes are seen as part of new Manchester United boss Moyes’ plans to make his own mark on the running of the club, since being appointed to the job.
Meulensteen, who led training sessions for Manchester United, was believed to have been given the option of staying at Old Trafford, but has reportedly taken his leave.

The Dutchman had been employed by the club since 2001, with a brief interval between 2006 and 2007 when he became coach of Danish side Brondby IF.
Moyes, meanwhile, is believed to be keen on recruiting backroom staff from former club Everton, whom he left to take up the dugout job vacated by Sir Alex Ferguson.
