Malaga sensation Isco has left the door open for a move to Manchester City by admitting he would like to follow Manuel Pellegrini, a man he has dubbed his "football father".

Pellegrini is set to be confirmed as the new Manchester City manager, with the Chilean expected to take the reins at the Etihad Stadium from 1st July.

At present Pellegrini is currently coaching Isco at Malaga, where he steered the Spanish side to a quarter-final spot in the Champions League in spite of operating in a climate of financial uncertainty.

Isco, who has a buyout clause of €35m, is expected to follow Pellegrini out of the Malaga exit door this summer – and he would love to end up working with the Chilean again.

"He is my football father and I know he thinks I am a good player. Of course, I would love to go with him", the Spaniard was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

Isco will not rush his decision though.

"It is an important decision and I would like to make the right choice.

"The important thing is that wherever I go, I’ll play. I’m keeping all options open, but I do not want to end up on the bench. We’ll see what happens in the summer."
