Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has admitted that he is in the dark over his future, but has vowed not to be distracted by the transfer chatter currently engulfing him.

Cavani, who continued his prolific nature in front of goal this season, has been linked with a number of Europe’s elite.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come clean on his admiration for the Uruguayan, while Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with the 26-year-old.

Real Madrid have been floated as a destination by none other than Cavani’s brother, while big spending Paris Saint-Germain are another option.

The Salto-born hitman does not know whether he will still be at Napoli next season – but he does know he will not dwell on what may be at present.

"I cannot say anything about my future, because I still do not know anything", Cavani was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"What is certain is that I will not be distracted by the transfer market rumours that there are around my name", he added.

The striker also insisted that while he dreamed of Barcelona and Real Madrid as a child, he remains proud to be able to pull on a Napoli shirt.

"As a child, I dreamed of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona, but now I am proud to be at Napoli."

Cavani hit the back of the net 29 times in Serie A for Napoli this season, also bagging a further seven in the Europa League.
