Real Madrid president Florentino Perez believes it is in Gareth Bale’s destiny to join the Spanish giants, despite having three years left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur, while also admitting he has a liking for Luis Suarez.

Spurs’ inability to clinch Champions League football for next season means interest for the Welsh winger has increased several-fold, with Real Madrid having long been linked.

Bale’s agent yesterday claimed the player would be "honoured" to listen if Perez brought an offer, whilst adding the 23-year-old would cost "much more" than new Barcelona recruit Neymar.

And speaking to radio station Cadena Cope, Perez said: "Bale was born to play in Madrid. We have always signed the best and that is our model."

Controversial Liverpool striker Suarez has also revealed he would be interested in a move to Los Blancos, adding that he was "tired of being unfairly attacked" by the press in England.

Suarez has provided 23 league goals and 11 assists this season, but has been marked down for his 10-match ban following a bite on Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

However, Perez added: "Luis Suarez is a great player and I’m sure everyone will want to have him. I like him and others, but all do not fit [at Real Madrid]."
