Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for Eintracht Frankfurt target Edgar Prib, having submitted a "concrete offer", according to Greuther Furth’s sporting director Rouven Schroder.

The Greuther Furth midfielder, who can also operate as a left-back if required, is currently on a contract until 2014.

However, with Greuther Furth’s relegation and Frankfurt making the Europa League for next season, the 23-year-old is an easy target for a move.

Frankfurt have long been linked with the player, who himself had previously declared his liking for the club, but previous offers had been rejected by Greuther Furth.

But with Dortmund potentially losing a few players themselves in the summer, the hunt for a midfield dynamo within the Bundesliga is heating up.

Schroder revealed Dortmund had taken a slender lead, and he was quoted by Kicker as saying: "[Dortmund] have submitted a concrete and a very good offer. Frankfurt will have to rework their offer."

Prib has been a constant presence for Greuther Furth from his youth days, and has made 110 senior appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals with 19 assists.

The midfielder had attracted interest from abroad previously, when Fulham sent scouts over in February 2012 to watch Prib as well as striker Sercan Sararer during their 2. Bundesliga days.
