Anderlecht have reworked their approach for long-term target Thorgan Hazard, with an application for a loan spell for the Chelsea youngster being considered, according to Belgian daily La Derniere Heure.

Thorgan, brother of the already established Eden Hazard, spent last season on loan at Jupiler Pro League side Zulte Waregem, making 34 league appearances and scoring four goals.

Belgian champions Anderlecht have long been admirers of his performances, and the Zulte Waregem stint has further boosted their efforts.

With Chelsea not short of established wingers, including Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard is expected to continue gaining first-team experience elsewhere and, arguably, has no better place to do so than with the 32-time league winners.

His displays in the Belgian league have prompted a promotion to the national squad, following a steady climb up the age-groups.

He recently claimed that playing alongside the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Maxime Lestienne and his own brother in the national set-up was actually made easier, than otherwise, by the fact of his more illustrious relation.

"I was always seen as the brother of Eden Hazard, as one would expect", the 20-year-old winger told Belgian broadcaster RTBF. "But I am not intimidated."
