Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that the club have received offers for in-demand striker Edinson Cavani.

However, De Laurentiis has revealed that the bids which have landed at the San Paolo are for an amount less than the Uruguayan’s €63m release clause.

Cavani is one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger having confirmed his interest, fellow English side Chelsea linked, while the striker’s brother has claimed Real Madrid are in the mix.

But Napoli will not let Cavani go on the cheap. And the bids which have arrived so far have not been good enough.

Asked about whether Napoli have received bids for Cavani in a Twitter Q&A, De Laurentiis said: "Yes, we have received offers, but much lower than the clause."

And the president insists the club will not be rushed with regard to their summer transfer dealings.

"With regard to the market, we must have time to check carefully what we have and then look at what to buy."

Cavani hit 29 goals in 34 Serie A games for Napoli last season as they finished as Serie A runners-up.
