Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has explained he would like to remain at the club, but feels they must quickly start to challenge for silverware.

The Gunners have not won a trophy since picking up the FA Cup in 2005, though they have continued to consistently qualify for the Champions League.

However, that has not been enough for Arsenal to keep hold of their best players, with stars such as Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Robin van Persie all seeking greener pastures in search of trophies.

Koscielny, who arrived at Arsenal from Lorient in 2010, is prepared to buck the trend of departures, but wnats to see the side pushing for silverware.

"I feel good at Arsenal, I still have a four year contract", he explained to Eurosport.

"I’ve just come out of a complicated season, especially concerning the first six months, but I’ve finished well.

"I would like to win trophies too. I hope that the club have the means to do so."

And that, for Koscielny, is vitally important, with the Frenchman hinting he expects Arsenal to splash the cash to compete.

"If we have the means to compete with the best I have no reason to leave. But if it is going to be fighting to finish in the Champions League spots each year then it is going to be hard psychologically because you’re under pressure all the time.

"I don’t want to go just anywhere. I would like to get to know another league.

"Of course it’s complicated. I want to lift trophies and make my mark. I hope that the club will acquire the means. If this is not the case I’ll go elsewhere."
