Europa League winners Chelsea have made an enquiry about the availability of AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, according to Sky Italia.

At present the Ghana international is on holiday, however earlier today his agent met with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani at the club’s headquarters.

Boateng’s contract with Milan expires next summer and so far there has been little progress made on a renewal.

And it is against this backdrop that Chelsea have taken tentative soundings over the potential availability of Boateng, who they could choose to swoop for this summer.

Boateng is currently on holiday in Ibiza and can be expected to cut that short if there are quick developments involving the Blues.

The 26-year-old has played in England before, counting Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth amongst his former clubs.

He won Serie A with Milan in the 2010/11 campaign before finishing as runners-up one year later.
