After the signings of winger Jesus Navas and midfielder Fernandinho, Manchester City are once again on the hunt for their next new player, and that man may well be Paris Saint-Germain holding midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
The Toulouse-born defensive midfielder signed for the Parisian giants from fellow ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2011. Since then, he has become a core element in the PSG midfield. Indeed, he made 37 league appearances for the club last season.
His work rate and ability to work in the middle of the pitch could well have attracted Eastlands giants Manchester City, who are tipped to be pondering a swoop for the French midfielder, with a big-money contract being slated to convince the 26-year-old to make the Etihad Stadium his new home come the next campaign, according to RMC.
The transfer, should it push through, would be a nod to the new kind of football the new manager, Manuel Pellegrini, is trying to implement with the club, something that Manchester City’s top brass are believed to be looking forward to.
