Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thiago Silva will not be making a Parc des Princes exit this summer, insists his agent, Paulo Fernando Tonietto.

Silva moved in with the Parisian giants from Serie A side AC Milan for a jaw-dropping fee of €42m in the summer of 2012. Since then, the Brazilian made 34 appearances for PSG, scoring three goals along the way.

But his defensive talents are believed to have attracted interest 650 miles south of Paris, with La Liga top guns Barcelona consistently linked with a move for Silva in recent months.

Tonietto, however, has moved to rubbish the claims, telling Tutto Mercato, "Would Thiago be willing to take a pay cut just to play for Barca? There is that possibility, but Thiago will not go to Barcelona."

Asked if the uncertainty of Carlo Ancelotti’s position as manager of the club has put further strain on Silva’s future with PSG, the agent answered, "Thiago will continue his career in France, with or without Ancelotti."

Silva has a contract with the Parisian heavyweights that sees him locked down at the Parc des Princes until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
