Spartak Moscow head coach Valeri Karpin has steadfastly refused to entertain any speculation over free agent and former Arsenal man Andrei Arshavin, claiming the club are not interested in the player.
Arshavin was released at the end of his contract from Arsenal, following four-and-a-half years at the club, where he made 144 appearances scoring 31 goals.
He became out of favour at the Emirates in recent times, and was even sent out on loan to his former club Zenit St. Petersburg last year.
Zenit have, in fact, been showing interest in a permanent deal as have Turkish side Besiktas, with talk of a €3m yearly salary.

However, Karpin, who only took up the role of full-time coach at Spartak Moscow earlier this season, was not interested in talk about the Russia international.
He told Sovietsky Sport: "Spartak are not interested in him. Which Arshavin do you mean? The current one? I have not seen him for six months. Basically, it will not happen."
Arshavin had joined Arsenal from Zenit back in January 2009, following a superb Euro 2008 tournament with Russia, for whom he has earned 75 caps.
