Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is sticking to his demand that Chelsea meet Edinson Cavani’s release clause of €63m in order for him to depart the San Paalo.
According to Sky Italia, De Laurentiis is not at present keen to accept a penny less for the Uruguayan striker and this has led to no movement on a deal in the last few days.
Chelsea first proposed €30m plus Fernando Torres for Cavani, but that was rejected by Napoli despite new coach Rafael Benitez’s liking for the Spanish striker.
The Blues then came with an offer of €50m, but rebuffed Napoli’s enquiry about including Ramires in the deal.

Now the situation is at a stalemate, with De Laurentiis determined not to sell Cavani for less than €63m.
The Napoli president is now waiting patiently to see if Manchester City or Real Madrid, two other clubs with a genuine interest in the striker, decide to enter the race.
At present Cavani is with Uruguay preparing for the 2013 Confederations Cup, which is hosted in Brazil and kicks off this coming weekend.
