Ove Flindt Bjerg, the Danish scout of Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, has insisted that the German side are not looking for a player like Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The 25-year-old Denmark international’s contract at the Emirates Stadium runs until next summer, and he has already been linked with a host of clubs, which also includes German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The player has revealed that he is willing to leave the Gunners permanently, after having admitted to indulging in talks with five or six clubs.

However, one of the clubs have rejected their pursuit of him.

“We do not look for a type of player like Bendtner. We are looking for other types in this transfer window”, Flindt-Bjerg told Bold.

Bendtner started his youth career with the Gunners in 2004, and subsequently broke into the senior team in the following year.

He has been sent to Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus on season-long loan spells.

Bendtner clocked up just nine appearances for the Old Lady in Serie A in his 2012/13 loan spell, and admitted that it was a “horror” season for him, which was also plagued by injuries.

He has made 154 appearances for the Gunners under manager Arsene Wenger and has scored 45 goals.

He has also earned 55 caps for his national side, scoring 22 times.
