Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic has admitted that if Jose Mourinho wanted to take him to Chelsea this summer he would be flattered and consider it a huge vote of confidence. However, the Serbian is in no rush to leave the Estadio da Luz.

Matic landed at Benfica in the January 2011 transfer window, moving from Chelsea as part of the deal which took David Luiz to the Blues. He had been sent on loan to Vitesse for the campaign and the Portuguese giants allowed him to finish his stint in Holland first.

Now firmly in Portugal, Matic has cut an impressive figure in the Benfica engine room, so much so that he is under lock and key with the Lisbon giants until 2018.

Lately Matic has been linked with a return to Chelsea and he has hinted he would be happy to oblige if new boss Mourinho is keen, though he is in no way pushing for the move.

Indeed, the 24-year-old can see the benefits of remaining in Portugal a little longer.

"To be honest I want to stay in Lisbon for another year. But of course, if someone like Jose Mourinho wants to bring me back to London, that would be a chance to prove that I can play in the Premier League", Matic was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

"But I still want to achieve more with Benfica, especially in the big games."

Matic has just endured a heartbreaking season with Benfica, losing to Chelsea in the final of the Europa League, finishing second in the Portuguese Superliga and as runners-up in the Portuguese Cup.
