Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has asked the club to sign Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons – and talks have already begun between the two teams.
According to Sky Italia, Lyon have asked for a fee of €15m to part with the midfielder, and Napoli are now trying to negotiate this figure down.
Benitez will want the Azzurri officials to move quickly to tie up an agreement for Gonalons as the starlet is not short of suitors.
Indeed, along with Lyon team-mate Clement Grenier, Gonalons has attracted the eyes of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who was linked with launching a double bid for the talents just last month.

Gonalons, a defensively-minded midfielder, is under contract with Les Gones until the summer of 2016, in a further sign of just how highly Remi Garde’s men rate him.
Last season the 24-year-old made 35 appearances in Ligue 1 for Lyon, as they finished third and secured Champions League football for 2013/14.
Gonalons has won six caps for France at international level.
