Belgian giants Anderlecht have made an offer of €4m to Barcelona to acquire the services of defensive midfielder Jonathan dos Santos, according to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad.

The 23-year-old Mexican has a contract at the Camp Nou until June 2015. He started off as a youth player at Barcelona in 2002, along with his brother Giovani dos Santos – a former Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder.

Dos Santos is believed to be seen as a successor to Anderlecht skipper and star midfielder Lucas Biglia, who is poised to make a move to Serie A side Lazio this summer.

A three-time La Liga winner with Barcelona, as well as a Champions League winner, Dos Santos has also been linked with Merseyside outfit Everton, as well as Spanish side Sevilla.
