Brazilian star Paulinho has rubbished reports that his agent is in London to negotiate a deal between him and either of Chelsea and Tottenham.

The 24-year-old, who scored a goal in Brazil’s 3-0 win over Japan in Saturday’s Confederations Cup opener, has been well immersed amongst the transfer talk this summer.

Paulinho revealed yesterday that his agent was in England, and it sparked chatter that talks with Chelsea and Tottenham were expected to take place.

However, the midfielder has denied there are any plans afoot for a move to the Premier League, ahead of Brazil’s clash against Mexico on Wednesday.

"[My agent] is certainly in England, but he works for a lot of players", Paulinho told Brazilian news outlet Terra. "People say that Giuliano is working on a departure for me from Corinthians, but that is not the case.

"He has work for other players to do. I do not understand why people stick to this story."

He has turned out a total of 86 times for Corinthians in the Brazilian Serie A, with his 20 goals turning heads in Europe as well.

Paulinho has been a key figure for Corinthians and helped the side to win the Club World Cup last year, defeating Chelsea in the final.

The midfielder is expected to have a big part to play for Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil side in next summer’s World Cup.
