Wantaway PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen is prepared to listen to an offer from Premier League side Norwich City, even if the Canaries are not high up on his preference list.

Toivonen is in danger of being frozen out at PSV over his refusal to decide on either a contract renewal or a move away.

With the potential consequence of being banished to the reserve side, should he not get off the fence, the striker has agreed to begin talks.

There had been reports that a deal with Chris Hughton’s side was already done – with €5.7m having sweetened the terms there.

Toivonen has since denied any such agreement, stating that a move to a lower-half side – albeit in England – was not one of his biggest choices.

However, the 26-year-old was today quoted by Voetbal International as saying: "It never hurts to listen.

"It’s the Premier League, which is a great competition. I’ll talk and then we will see what comes out."

Toivonen’s contract at PSV is set to run out in 2014, which will signal the end of his four-and-a-half-year spell at the club.

Despite the potential falling out with coach Phillip Cocu, he has been fairly prolific with the Dutch giants, scoring 76 goals in all competitions in 176 appearances.

His performances had also attracted interest from Norwich’s Premier League rivals in Everton and West Brom earlier this month.
