Russian national team manager Fabio Capello could be announced as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain as early as today, according to Sky Italia.
With events moving quickly, Real Madrid are appearing more than eager to appoint current PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti to their dugout, but the relocation is expected to only arise if the Parisians are assured of a new face at the helm.
And Capello has become the new favourite to take the job at PSG, after refusals from Andre Villas-Boas, Michael Laudrup, Guus Hiddink and Arsene Wenger in recent weeks.
It is understood that PSG are willing to buy Capello out of the one year left on his contract, with a €3m release clause seemingly easy pickings for the club’s Qatari owners.

Reports in the French media have indicated that Capello is the only one at present who would not be put off by the short-term nature of PSG’s offering, even as other candidates shied away.
Villas-Boas and Laudrup were both ruled out over speculation that a one-year deal was not long enough to be tempted towards the Ligue 1 champions, while Hiddink’s contract at Anzhi Makhachkala was extended and Wenger is due for the same at Arsenal.
Capello, who has been at Russia’s helm since 2012, could be a viable choice in terms of player power as well, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic a fan of the Italian from their Juventus days.
And the former England coach has the pedigree to back it up, with five Serie A titles, and two La Liga triumphs to add to his Champions League victory whilst at AC Milan.
His time at Russia has been fairly productive, with the country sitting in second place and two points behind Portugal in their World Cup qualification Group F, with five matches to go.
