Real Madrid could be set to announce Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager as early as tomorrow, following news that Laurent Blanc is close to the Paris Saint-Germain job, according to Spanish daily AS.

Blanc revealed he is due for a meeting with the PSG hierarchy in Paris today, and if all goes to plan Ancelotti will be allowed to leave for Real Madrid.

The Ligue 1-winning coach has made no secret of a desire to manage Los Blancos, but until now PSG had been reluctant to allow the move with no replacement in sight.

However, with Blanc set for a two-year deal at the Parc des Princes, Ancelotti will be keen for an announcement confirming his Spanish job soon.

Earlier this month, reports had emerged that the Spanish giants were looking at a 3rd July announcement, but it appears that date may have been brought forward.

If appointed Ancelotti’s first big task at Real Madrid will be to sort out the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is yet to sign an extension to his current contract.

The Portuguese denied reports that an extension was complete, even as speculation over a possible return to old club Manchester United does the rounds.

In addition, the club have been eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale, with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez also linked heavily with the former La Liga champions.
