Swansea have failed with a bid for in-demand Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Le 10 Sport.

Swans boss Michael Laudrup made an offer of €12m to take Aubameyang to the Liberty Stadium this summer, moving to get ahead of the fierce competition for the Gabon striker.

But the Welsh giants hit a double brick wall in their attempt to sign Aubameyang.

Saint-Etienne considered the bid to be too low to release the striker, while Aubameyang himself let it be known that he is not interested in joining Swansea, despite the club boasting Europa League football for next season.

Indeed, Aubameyang feels he has bigger fish to fry.

The striker’s agent has admitted that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are suitors, while Chelsea and Newcastle have also been linked with making a play for his services.

Outside England, Aubameyang interests German pair Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, while in Italy, Fiorentina and Roma are admirers of his prolific goalscoring talents.

One host of clubs also out in the cold with Swansea however are the Eastern European hoards keen on the hitman.

Aubameyang is understood to have no interest in joining Anzhi Makhachakala, Shakhtar Donetsk or Metalist Kharkiv, who had all been considering bids.
