Shakhtar Donetsk director Sergei Palkin has given Borussia Dortmund a 10-day deadline to hold talks on a €30m valuation of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Bundesliga side today tabling a €23m bid for the wantaway midfielder.
Mkhitaryan is currently facing a fine from Shakhtar Donetsk for failing to turn up for pre-season training, and he has been most linked with Liverpool.
Dortmund emerged as contenders for the player today, and have moved swiftly to aid their cause by making a €23m bid for Mkhitaryan, whose release clause is believed to be the same amount.
Palkin today revealed the nature of the bid, telling Terrikon: "Borussia [Dortmund] have offered €23m for the midfielder. I contacted Mkhitaryan’s agent yesterday and wrote to him about the club’s official position.

"I don’t know where Mkhitaryan is now. Only his agent knows that.
"We are prepared to sell Mkhitaryan for €30m; this offer stands for the next 10 days. If there is a club that is ready to buy him, then we are prepared to discuss the conditions."
It is understood that Mkhitaryan had skipped pre-season training owing to repeated links with Liverpool, with the Anfield club also keen to match the release clause.
However, Shakhtar Donetsk have denied the Reds have submitted any offers for the 24-year-old, who emerged as the club’s leading scorer this season.
