Despite intense talk in Spain that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has asked the club’s president to enter the race for Paulinho, the Brazilian midfielder himself insists no offer has been forthcoming from Los Blancos yet.

English giants Tottenham Hotspur have already activated Paulinho’s €20m release clause at Corinthians and the player has explained he will decide where his future lies after the Confederations Cup, in which he is currently competing with Brazil.

That leaves ample time for Real Madrid to enter the race.

But Paulinho is clear that so far they have not done so, with Spurs the only club to have made a firm bid.

"It is not true about Real Madrid and the only offer that has arrived is from Tottenham", the midfielder told Brazilian outlet Terra.

"I have already said that I will only consider it after the Confederations Cup."

While it appears likely Paulinho will be on his way out of Corinthians, the Brazilian side are not concerned at losing his services.

Indeed, Corinthians’ president Mario Gobbi has insisted he already has players at the club who can replace Paulinho and do just as good a job on the pitch.
