Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony has insisted that English Premier League side Swansea are the ideal club for him, and he also revealed that the two clubs are closing in on an agreement that paves the way for him to switch to the Welsh side.

The 24-year-old Ivorian is hoping that the two clubs reach a settlement quickly.

Bony, highly rated following his displays with the Eredivisie club last season, has been linked with a number of clubs this summer. The former Sparta Prague player registered himself on the scoresheet 31 times out of 30 appearances in the Dutch top flight, as Vitesse finished fourth in the league.

He is now desperate to make a move to Michael Laudrup’s side – who finished in the top half of the Premier League table last season, and also bagged the League Cup this year – the club’s first major trophy in England.

“I hope Vitesse and Swansea reach a settlement quickly", Bony told Dutch daily De Gelderlander.

"Vitesse have asked €12m for me, and Swansea are willing to meet that amount. An agreement is very close”, he revealed.

Bony also explained that he is ready to ply his trade in the Premier League, and he is sure of getting enough playing time with the Swans.

"I’m ready. Swansea are an ideal club for me. I really want to play in the Premier League. And I will not be sitting on the couch.

“At Swansea I am sure I will have a lot of playing time. Also the football that Swansea play suits me.

Bony’s present contract with Vitesse runs until June 2015.
