Schalke star Julian Draxler has turned his back on three big-money offers to remain with the Ruhr giants, with two of the clubs having moved for the German being identified as Manchester City and Real Madrid.

According to German daily Bild, both clubs, along with an unidentified third side, were willing to meet the release clause in Draxler’s newly signed contract, which is set at €45.5m, and hand the midfielder a lucrative big-money contract.



But the starlet, who signed on the dotted line until 2018 with Schalke, let it be known he is not prepared to leave the Ruhr side at present.

Draxler’s commitment is a big boost for Schalke, who finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season, grabbing the league’s final Champions League spot by a margin of four points.

The 19-year-old, who has also attracted attention from Chelsea, is a product of Schalke’s youth system.

Draxler has also seen his talents appreciated on the international stage, with six caps won for Germany so far.

Schalke start their new Bundesliga campaign by hosting Hamburg on 10th August before a trip to Wolfsburg the following weekend.
