Liverpool’s interest in Saint-Etienne defender Kurt Zouma has come to an end, opening the path for the player’s other suitors to move in to snaffle up the starlet.

Zouma’s agent confirmed earlier this month that Liverpool were in the running for his client, along with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United, while Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are also in the mix.

However, the Reds are now out of the reckoning for the 18-year-old stopper, agent David Venditelli explained to Eurosport.

"Kurt and Liverpool is finished", said Venditelli.

Zouma has long been tipped for the top, with Saint-Etienne easing him into first team action.

Last season Zouma made 18 appearances in Ligue 1 for Les Verts, impressing with a maturity belying his tender years.

While Saint-Etienne are believed to be willing to sell Zouma for around the €10m mark, the ball is firmly in their court, with the defender under contract until 2017.
