AC Milan have categorically ruled out a move for star forward Stephan El Shaarawy, by stating that the player is intent on continuing his stay at the San Siro.

The claim comes from no less than a club statement, after the 20-year-old met with CEO Adriano Galliani, amid reports that he was being linked with several clubs in Europe.

Manchester City were the last club to be linked, with local rivals Inter and La Liga side Barcelona also invovled, and Napoli having had their €30m bid turned down in Janurary.

The latter had prompted a new extension to the contract of the player nicknamed "the Pharaoh", which sees him at Milan until 2018, and the club have been forced into another strong statement over the future of their asset.

"The meeting between Adriano Galliani, Stephan El Shaarawy and his representatives has taken place", the statement read. "It went well.

"Stephan, who has always been a Milan fan, has reiterated his strong desire to continue playing in the Rossoneri shirt. Milan strongly share that conviction.

"Milan and El Shaarawy will go forward together as they have done since June 2011. No transfer, no rumours, no links. Milan and the Pharaoh will definitely remain together."

The former Genoa youth player clocked up 46 appearances under Massimiliano Allegri last season, scoring 19 times and making seven assists.
