Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen is prepared to extend his contract with Ajax if a suitable club do not approach him this summer.
Eriksen is out of contract with the Dutch champions next summer and has been linked with Liverpool and Roma in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old has admitted he is ready to call time on his spell at the Amsterdam ArenA in the current transfer window, but only if he receives an offer from a club substantially bigger than Ajax.
And Eriksen, who has long maintained that he will not run down his contract in Holland and leave Ajax for free next summer, is prepared to put pen to paper on a new deal if that does not materialise.

The playmaker told Eredivisie Live that he cannot rule out leaving Ajax in the coming weeks "because it is still early in the transfer window".
However, he added: "But if there is no club that comes then I don’t have any problem extending my contract."
Eriksen made the move from his native Denmark to Ajax in 2008, joining up with the Dutch club’s youth ranks.
The 21-year-old has won 36 caps for Denmark at international level, finding the back of the net on three occasions.
His breakthrough in Holland came in the 2009/10 campaign, with the midfielder having been a fixture ever since.
