Christian Eriksen’s agent does not value Bayer Leverkusen at the level that is right for his client, with the Ajax man also linked with Liverpool in the transfer window.
Eriksen has always maintained he will only leave Ajax if a "big club" comes calling, while Leverkusen were today understood to be readying a big-money bid.
However, the Dane has reportedly rejected the Bundesliga club’s efforts, and Liverpool seem to be the only club in line.
And the player’s agent Martin Schoots has now revealed the reasons behind Eriksen saying no to next season’s Champions League participants.

"Christian will leave Ajax only if he thinks the sporting challenge is better", Schoots was quoted by Voetbal International as saying. "That’s his main criterion.
"The difference between Ajax and [Leverkusen] is not so high, and it does not correspond to the next step that is meant for his career."
Eriksen has already indicated that he does not mind penning an extension to his Ajax deal, with the current one running out next year.
