PSV Eindhoven have brought out the big investment guns to force a transfer for Sporting Lisbon defender and Liverpool target Tiago Ilori, according to Voetbal International.
Ilori, who has spent just five months as an official senior player with Sporting, is also understood to be in Valencia’s plans for this summer.
PSV have jumped in for a move, and are expected to use the backing of noted football investment company Doyen Sports, who are known to have ties with Sporting.
Doyen are famous for their connections with an elite level of sportspersons, with their list of footballers including Alvaro Negredo, Radamel Falcao and Jose Antonio Reyes.

They will be expected to partially fund PSV’s attempts at signing Ilori, who Liverpool were hoping to secure earlier this summer.
While Ilori’s contract was automatically stretched to 2015 when he made the senior grade, Sporting were not keen to sell and instead were looking at a further extension.
At just 20, Ilori has not made a large impact with Sporting having played just 11 times in the Primeira Liga last season.
However, he has been a regular in the reserve team and also took part in this summer’s Under-20 World Cup for Portugal.
He turned out in all four games for the Portuguese and even managed an assist, but the team crashed out in the round-of-16 with a 3-2 defeat to Ghana.
