Morten Gamst Pedersen could soon be experiencing life back in his familiar Scandinavia, with FC Copenhagen very keen to take the Blackburn Rovers man on.

FCK have begun talks with Pedersen's agent, according to Danish daily BT, and a move is expected to be complete within a week.

Norway international Pedersen was told by Blackburn that he was no longer part of their plans, at the end of a nine-year spell, and his transfer will be made on a free.

That spells wonders for FCK, who can also offer Pedersen a heftier salary as compared to the player's native Norway, where he began his senior career with IL Norild.

However, no solid negotiations are understood to have begun between FCK and Blackburn, who made the announcement on Pedersen's future in early August.

Blackburn chief executive Derek Shaw had said at the time: "[Pedersen] has found himself out of the team and we will do anything we can to assist a move. If a move comes along we won't stand in his way."

Pedersen clocked in 340 games for Blackburn, with several seasons in the Premier League as well, and even managed 44 goals with 63 assists.

FCK will be keen to use all of that experience as they currently lie in the relegation zone in the Danish Superligaen and are yet to record a win in five games.
