Morten Gamst Pedersen is no closer to signing for FC Copenhagen than he is for any other club, according to his agent, even if the interest does flatter the Blackburn Rovers man.

Pedersen's future after Blackburn was set in the direction of FCK, who were believed to be deep in talks with agent Rune Hauge.

However, while the FCK interest does hold some water, Hauge insists he is lining up several clubs for a move, including some in Pedersen's native Norway.

After nine years with Blackburn, Pedersen was told he could seek a new club as the Championship side sought to cut down their wage bill.

The move to FCK was apparently just a week away but Hauge today told Norwegian outlet NRK: "FCK have approached me once, but it's pretty far away from negotiations.

"I have come much further in negotiations with other clubs. Norway can be interesting as well.

"When [Pedersen] chooses, sport will come first, no matter what, unless there is a very lucrative proposition. But money will always be number two."

While his agent may be running things primarily, Pedersen himself has heard of FCK's interest, and insists the prospect of Champions League is a factor.

He told Danish website BT. "If the rumours are true [about FCK], it's flattering. But I know that there are other clubs that are interested in me.

"It is clear that the Champions League is something that every player dreams to play in and I would like to try it.

"FCK is probably the biggest club in Scandinavia. I have not heard anything concrete about [their interest] but if there's a bid I will evaluate it seriously."
