Trabzonspor will not be taking Manchester City youngster John Guidetti on loan this summer with the striker deemed unfit, according to Swedish outlet Expressen.

Guidetti was yesterday reported to have been the subject of a loan move from Trabzonspor, who had space for one more non-Turkish player in their ranks.

New Turkish Football Federation rules allow 10 foreign players at a club from 2013/14 onwards, and Trabzonspor already had nine.

However, a lack of match fitness appears to have put paid to any hopes, giving Guidetti a fresh blow in what has been a disappointing last few years in England.

Guidetti was brought over to Manchester City from Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna's youth side in 2007.

The 21-year-old has failed to land a senior game with the Citizens so far, primarily due to an illness that forced him out for most of last season.

And it is believed that the fallout from a subsequent knee injury has hampered the Trabzonspor deal, with Guidetti considered below-par in terms of match fitness.

However, Manchester City could still see Guidetti gain first-team experience with a loan to a Championship club, following a previous month's spell away at Burnley.

There is some positivity to Guidetti's time, though, as the Sweden international spent a year on loan at Feyenoord and ended with 20 goals in 23 games for the Dutch side.
