Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the club will not be opening contract extension talks with Andrea Pirlo until February or March.
The Italian international’s current contract with the Turin giants is set to expire after the end of the current campaign and Marotta’s remarks have raised doubts about the midfielder’s future with the Bianconeri.
The 34-year-old joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2011 after his previous employers AC Milan chose not to renew the player’s contract and Pirlo could meet with a similar fate with the reigning Serie A champions.
“Pirlo’s contract? We have talked together and it’s quiet”, Marotta told Tuttosport.
