Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal has admitted asking his board to look into buying Javier Pastore from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Pastore enjoyed a fine campaign under Carlo Ancelotti at the Parc des Princes last term, but has found impressing harder under new coach Laurent Blanc this season.

Last season, as PSG marched to the Ligue 1 title, Pastore made 34 French top flight appearances, providing an impressive ten assists for his team-mates.

This year he has played just five out of nine Ligue 1 games, being substituted early in three of those matches and coming in for his fair share of criticism.

He has been defended by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is a firm fan of the Argentine.

But the Frenchman is not Pastore's only admirer, with Yanal now admitting he will ask his board to look into signing the creative midfielder.

"I have requested that an appointment is made with the PSG board", Yanal told Fotomac.

"Fenerbahce want to grow with a real number 10", he added.
